On January 19, 2011, the Investigative Directorate of the FSB of Russia charged the head of the All-Russian People's Militia named after Minin and Pozharsky (NOMP) Vladimir Kvachkov under Part 1 of Art. 30, art. 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt to organize an armed rebellion) and Part 1 of Art. 205-1 (recruitment or involvement of persons in terrorist activities).
The head of the NOMP was taken into custody on December 23, 2010 by decision of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow at the request of the Investigative Directorate of the FSB of Russia. In addition to V. Kvachkov, his “associates” Tatyana Bragina and three other people were also detained. The case materials are classified.
On January 17, 2011, the Moscow City Court rejected the cassation appeal of the accused’s defense against his arrest and left the retired GRU colonel in custody.
According to V. Kvachkov, he was arrested on the basis of the testimony of the Tolyatti head of the NOMP, who was arrested in the summer of 2010.
Let us recall that in July 2010,searches were carried out in the apartments of NOMP activists in different cities “ in connection with a criminal case of extremism .”
