In Penza, the investigation into a series of explosions and arson has been completed

In January 2011, an investigation into a series of hate crimes, including explosions and arson, was completed in the Penza region. Two young people will soon find themselves in the dock: Ilya Petrov (“Schizophrenic”), born in 1992, and his accomplice, Alexander Loskutov, born in 1990.

Ilya Petrov is charged with illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and explosives (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), attempted destruction of someone else's property (Part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), illegal manufacture of weapons (Part 1 of Article 223 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), incitement of national, religious and ideological hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), use of violence against a government official ( Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and vandalism motivated by hatred (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Alexander Loskutov is accused only of vandalism motivated by hatred (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Chronicle of crimes:

• On December 14, 2009, I. Petrov set fire to the police department building. No one was hurt and the police were able to put out the fire.
• In January 2009, I. Petrov, together with A. Loskutov, set fire to the building of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh and threw 3 Molotov cocktails at the window of the Spasskaya Chapel. However, the bottles did not break and the fire did not start. In addition, Molotov cocktails were thrown at the window of the chapel located in the park named after. Lermontov.
• On January 29, 2010, I. Petrov set fire to the building where the Intim store was located.
• At the beginning of February 2010, Ilya Petrov planted an explosive device in a car parked near the building of the Penza police department. However, the power of the explosion was insufficient. No harm done.
• On March 13, 2010, I. Petrov left a bag with a bomb at the front door of the building where the editorial office of the Express TV channel was located. A security guard was injured in the explosion and received multiple injuries. On one of the cars parked nearby, I. Petrov left a note threatening journalists and demanding that his actions be covered in the media.
• On April 2, 2010, I. Petrov threw 2 Molotov cocktails into the corridor of police station No. 31. A fire started in the building, but no one was injured.
• On May 6, 2010, I. Petrov tried to blow up the building of the 2nd police department, but the detonator on the explosive device did not work.
• On May 8, 2010, I. Petrov blew up police station No. 31. No one was hurt, and Petrov himself was detained , despite the resistance offered.

I. Petrov filmed some of the episodes listed above and then posted the video on the Internet.

The case has already been transferred to the Penza Regional Court for consideration on the merits.
