Several schools in the Saratov region have introduced lessons in Islamic culture

On January 31, 2011, it became known that in several secondary schools in the Saratov region (in the villages of Tarlykovka, Vasilyevka and Lopukhovka), as part of an experiment, classes on “Fundamentals of Islamic Culture” were introduced from the beginning of the school year, taught by local imam Rustam Mukhitov.

Since January, these classes have become weekly. Not only Muslims attend the elective.
