The alleged leader and several members of the local group "Caucasus Emirate" were detained in Bashkiria

On February 7, 2011, as part of the investigation of a criminal case initiated againstAlmir Badykov , employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Belarus conducted searches of four people suspected of involvement in the local group "Imarat Caucasus" in the city Oktyabrsky.

In the house of one of them (presumably the leader of a local group), ammonium nitrate weighing about 1.5 kg, about 1 kg of hexogen, metal shavings weighing about 2 kg, as well as parts of ammunition from an under-barrel grenade launcher were found. A sawn-off double-barreled shotgun was found in the apartment of one of the leader's alleged accomplices. The detainees were placed in custody. The issue of initiating a criminal case under Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ( illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices) is being resolved.

On February 9, 2011, Kommersant , citing its own sources in Ufa, reported the name of the leader - we are talking about Ilnur Shakiryanov, who in November 2004 was sentenced to three years in prison in connection with organizing the detonation of an improvised explosive device in May 2004 in Oktyabrsky.
