Jehovah's Witnesses failed to appeal the ban on distributing their magazines

On February 10, 2011, it became known that the Ninth Arbitration the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court on the recognition of legal orders of Roskomnadzor dated April 26 and May 18, 2010 annulling permits for distribution in Russia of Jehovah's Witnesses magazines "Awake!" and The Watchtower (the second order corrected technical inaccuracies first). Roskomnadzor referred to the decision to recognize the materials of these publications extremist and including them in the list of extremist materials.

In October 2010, Jehovah's Witnesses attempted to challenge the orders Roskomnadzor, but the Moscow Arbitration Court rejected the complaint. The plaintiffs then applied to the court of appeal, but the complaint was again not satisfied.

On May 6, 2011, it became known that members of the community of Jehovah's Witnesses filed a cassation appeal with the Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow District.
