In Bashkiria, a member of a religious extremist group was convicted of possession of weapons

On February 14, 2011 it became known that the Chishminsky district court (Bashkortostan) passed a guilty verdict on a 36-year-old native of the village Chishma Emil Valeev. The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition and storage of explosives and explosive devices committed by a group of persons by prior agreement) and sentenced to 3 years and 7 months imprisonment in a penal colony.

According to the investigation, the convict belonged to a certain religious extremist group (name not specified) supporting connection with the gangs of the North Caucasus. Together with a native of Ingushetia Bashir Pliev and a resident of the Bashkir city of Belebey Vladimir Turaev E.Valeev recruited parishioners of local mosques and supplied ammunition and weapon. B. Pliyev was detained, V. Turaev is wanted.

The group's activities were suppressed in the spring and summer of 2010 year, 12 people were detained.

In 1995-2001, E. Valeev worked in the Republican Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 2010 he was probation for stealing scrap metal. Sources
