On February 15, 2011, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Udmurt Republic reported that in 2010, 3 criminal cases were opened for crimes of an “extremist nature” (see the certificate of the SOVA Center “ What constitutes a “crime of an extremist nature” ”).
According to the SOVA Center, the following criminal cases were initiated in the region:
- in March 2010 in Izhevsk - under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred) regarding the application of anti-Semitic graffiti on the walls of the Jewish Community Center building.
- in April 2010 in Glazov - under Part 2 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (beatings inflicted based on national hatred) for the beating of a black teenager .
- in June 2010 in Izhevsk - under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred) in connection with xenophobic chants at a football match
