The Penza diocese is preparing to license Sunday schools to obtain the status of centers of additional education

On February 3, 2011, a meeting of assistant deans of the Penza diocese responsible for religious education and catechesis took place. Among the issues considered was state licensing of Sunday schools.

“As a result of the certification, schools can receive the status of centers of additional education, which means that the heads of such centers will have the opportunity to receive salaries from the state,” according to the diocese’s website.

The diocese is also preparing certification of teachers and directors of Sunday schools.

Let us recall that earlier the Tambov diocese managed to achieve the inclusion of Sunday schools in the system of additional education.
