In February 2011, as a result of racist and neo-Nazi attacks at least 6 people were injured, 3 of whom died.
Violent incidents were recorded in Moscow (1 dead), Petersburg (4 injured, 1 of them died), Astrakhan region (1 dead).
In total, since the beginning of the year, according to the SOVA Center, not less than 25 people, of which 8 people died. (Recall that these statistics do not include includes victims of mass fights, as well as victims of incidents that occurred in the regions North Caucasus.)
In February, we recorded at least 3 acts of vandalism that could have been regarded as motivated by hatred or neo-Nazi ideological installations: Muslim graves in Nizhny Novgorod suffered, pagan a temple in Arkhangelsk, a monument to Lenin in Voronezh. Since the beginning of the year there were at least 10 actions of neo-Nazi and xenophobically motivated vandals.
In February 2010, at least 4 sentences were handed down (in Moscow, Karelia and Kemerovo region) for violent crimes, in which he was recognized hate motive. The loudest was the verdict against Nazi skinheads Artur Ryno and Pavel Skachevsky, who were found guilty of racist murder in April 2007.
In these trials, 7 people were convicted, 6 of whom were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment with serving a sentence in a penal colony regime, one person received a suspended sentence.
In addition, 3 lawsuits ended in February, which we cannot it is safe to say whether the motive of hatred was taken into account in the verdict. This is about convictions for the murder of a homeless man in Obninsk (Kaluga region), for attacking a native of Kyrgyzstan in Samara, for beating a native of Azerbaijan and attack on a group of informals in Irkutsk.
In February, a neo-Nazi was also sentenced in the high-profile case of shooting FSB officers in September 2009.

For xenophobic propaganda in February 2011, at least 4 guilty verdicts - in the Republic of Kalmykia, Smolensk, Arkhangelsk and Orenburg regions. In these trials, 5 people were convicted, two of who were given suspended sentences, one (distributor of extremist leaflets in Kalmykia) - sentenced to two years in prison to be served in a colony-settlement, two - to restriction of freedom for a period of one year.
In total, since the beginning of the year, 9 such verdicts have been handed down, in which 14 people were convicted.
In February five times (February 4, 9, 11, 17 and 24) the Federal List was updated extremist materials. Items were added to it. 764-783. The list has been added: xenophobic articles from regional newspapers, brochures by P. Khomyakov and A. Ignatiev, film "Russia with a knife in the back 2", Heinrich Himmler's book, Muslim books and newspapers, materials from the Internet blog, xenophobic leaflets, "Ichkeria-info" website.
In addition, in February 2011, the Federal List was updated twice extremist organizations. Interregional public movements "Slavic Union" and "Format-18".
