At least sixty new Orthodox churches will be built in Moscow

On March 23, 2011, a meeting between Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Patriarch Kirill took place in Chisty Lane, dedicated, in particular, to the construction of new churches in the capital.

According to the mayor of the city, sixty sites have already been selected for the construction of Orthodox churches.

The first of the churches built in Moscow on the initiative of the patriarch will be the church on Dubrovka - in memory of the victims of the 2002 terrorist attack.
