In March, we recorded at least 5 acts of vandalism, which could be regarded as motivated by hatred or neo-Nazi ideological settings. In total, at least 17 such events have occurred since the beginning of the year. shares.

In March 2011, there were at least 4 indictments convictions in cases of racist violence in which he was found the motive of hatred - in Moscow and the region, in Tatarstan and in the Altai Territory. In these trials, 12 people were convicted (3 of them on probation, the rest were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment). Most notable in this series was the verdict handed down in Barnaul (Altai Territory) to a group accused of committing from December 2009 to February 2010 several racist attacks, in as a result of which three people received injuries of varying severity, and South Korean student Kyung Byung Gil died. In addition, we note the verdict of Vakhitovsky District Court of the city of Kazan on March 17, 2011, handed down to a group of ultra-right for attack on natives of Tajikistan in February 2010 and attack in June 2009 year for a young person for " motivated by ideological hatred ", which was described in a press release by the court as hatred for " an adherent informal movement "gopniks" .

In total, since the beginning of the year, 11 verdicts have been handed down in cases of racist violence in 8 regions of the country. 26 were convicted under these sentences. people (9 of which - conditionally without additional sanctions).

For xenophobic propaganda in March, at least two sentences (both under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). One of them was issued for xenophobic inscriptions on the wall of the college in Yuriev-Polsky, Vladimir region, the second anti-Caucasian texts and photographs posted on the Internet in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region. In the first case, the convicted person was sentenced to a year correctional labor, in the second - to punishment in the form of a fine.

In total since the beginning of the year for racist propaganda has been issued 11 verdicts in which 16 people were convicted.

Federal list of extremist materials for the month updated twice (March 16 and 18). Nos. 785-808 were included in it. List replenished: songs of the groups "Kolovrat", "Cyclone B", "Mad effort" and "Psyche"; diaries Goebbels, RONS videos, xenophobic videos, leaflets of radical Muslim groups.

In March 2011, the Federal List was updated extremist organizations. A religious group has been added to it "Noble Order of the Devil", recognized as extremist by decision Supreme Court of Mordovia in December 2010 (the ban, we believe, was unlawful). Thus, in the list published on the official website Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, now 21 organizations (organizations recognized terrorist, are not yet included in this list).

In addition, the Vladimir prosecutor's office suspended activities of the interregional association "Russian National Union" (RONS) and sent an application to the Vladimir Regional Court with the demand to recognize the RONS as an extremist organization.

In the field of public opposition to racism, it is worth to celebrate the annual International Awareness Action Week "Stop racism!” which was held from 14 to 21 March 2011 by the Youth Network against racism and intolerance, International Youth Human Rights Movement and the International Network "Young Europe" within the framework of the European Week UNITED for Intercultural Action Network.
