March 30, 2011 the administration of the Tverskoy district of the city of Moscow and the VMO Tverskoye reported on the results fight against extremism in the region in 2010.
For 2010 Tverskaya the interdistrict prosecutor's office conducted 71 checks, and based on the results of the checks, made 63 warnings to the organizers of mass public events. Also the prosecutor's office made 6 submissions, based on the results of consideration of which 2 individuals were subject to disciplinary action.
In addition, in the management Tverskoy district of Moscow created an interdepartmental commission to counter manifestations of extremism, which includes the heads of services of law enforcement agencies, a joint plan to counter extremist manifestations has been created.
Legality some of the activities of the commission (or at least how they were described in the report of the prosecutor's office) raised our doubts.
In particular, it is reported that one of the goals is to counter the "spread of extremist sentiments and the organization of informal youth associations and groups". Of course, opposition to the organization of informal groups is not should be the aim of the authorities.
Not quite clear also, on what grounds and according to what criteria is the supervision of publications received by the regional newspaper "Karetny Ryad": in the message states that "in case of receipt by the editorial office of the newspaper information of an extremist nature, a copy of the message is subject to immediate referral to the inter-district prosecutor's office for action prosecutorial response.
