On April 27, 2011, it became known that the case initiated against Boris Obraztsov, publisher and founder of the newspaper Far Away Region, had been transferred to the prosecutor's office.
Let us recall that a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred and humiliation based on attitudes towards religion using the media) was opened against B. Obraztsov on March 16, 2011 in connection with a comment published in the newspaper, which contained harsh statements addressed to representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
On April 27, Boris Obraztsov told reporters from Portal Credo.ru that he intended to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation to declare unconstitutional the laws of the Kaliningrad region (No. 501 and No. 503) on the transfer of the buildings of the Catholic and Lutheran churches to the Russian Orthodox Church.
Let us remind you that we consider this criminal case not entirely lawful.
