In Yakonov, Tver Region, at the request of a priest, an Orthodox parish was liquidated

April 29, 2011 the Torzhok city court decided to terminate the activities Orthodox parish and its exclusion from the Unified State Register legal entities.

The basis for the liquidation of the parish as a legal entity were systematic violations of the current legislation:

• since its state registration in 1999, the parish did not submit to the Office of the Ministry of Justice Tver region information about the continuation of its activities;

• in the period from 2006 to 2009, the arrival did not submit financial statements;

• the parish did not notify the Office of the Ministry of Justice for the re-election of the chairman of the parish council, whose term of office has expired.

The decision of the court was not appealed and entered into into force.

May 6, 2011 was published an interview with local priest Georgy Vorobyov, in which he explained that we are talking about the liquidation of not Pokrovsky, as indicated in the message of the court, and the Epiphany parish of the village of Yakonovo.

Closing initiator was the priest himself, and the reason for his request to close the temple was the extreme poverty of the parish and the complete absence of parishioners.
