On May 10, 2011, the head of the Buddhist traditional sangha of Russia Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev consecrated the relics stored in the Special pantry of the Russian Ethnographic Museum (REM).
These items are silver and bronze figurines and a vessel for water, which were donated in 1913 to the imperial family by a lama Dashi-Dorzhi Itigelov, who is considered the "imperishable lama".
In these exhibits, REMs are kept laid down by Buryat lamas in such a way called "bumba" - "bookmarks", made according to Buddhist canons and bearing sacred meaning.
At the initiative of the head of the Buddhist community in the summer of 2011, Buddhist relics, stored in the REM will be presented at an exhibition in Buryatia. Russian Buddhists ready to help restore them.
