Tver diocese: the rural parish was not liquidated, but became assigned

May 16, 2011 Tver diocese commented on the situation with the closure of the parish in the village of Yakonovo. In a statement from the diocesan administration it is reported that all parishes of the Tver region were re-registered in 2010-2011 years, but "during the re-registration, it was decided that some few parishes will be transferred to the category of ascribed, with appropriate attachment to larger and stronger ones."

Yakonovsky belongs to such parishes. Change in parish status, clarified in the diocese, will not entail the closure of the church, and the clergy "will continue to feed the inhabitants of this area." Sources
