Office for Democracy and Human Rights (ODIHR) OSCE held a seminar in Vienna on May 13 , dedicated to the opening of a new training program for the police on working with hate crimes, Training against Hate Crimes for Law Enforcement (TAHCLE). It must replace the previous program (LEOP), during which police officers from several countries received special training, including Eastern European. Russia was negotiating participation in the program LEOP, but they were never completed. One can only hope that in the new Russia will take part in the program.
ODIHR Director Janez spoke at the opening of the seminar Lenarcic (Janez Lenarcic), Representative of the International Association of Prosecutors Elizabeth Howe and director of the SOVA Center Alexander Verkhovsky.
In the second part of the seminar, with your experience in the LEOP program was shared by representatives of the police in Bulgaria and Poland. Further gathered law enforcement officials from different countries began to discussion of the training program.
