In the Khabarovsk Territory, the court ordered the provider to limit access to extremist sites

On May 18, 2011, the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoflotsky district of the city of Khabarovsk announced that the court of the Krasnoflotsky district satisfied the prosecutor's claims to limit access to extremist Internet sites by adding rules for filtering IP addresses of sites on the border router

In addition, the prosecutor's office submitted a submission to LLC Telephone Company Vostoktelecom with a requirement to eliminate identified violations in the field of compliance with legislation on countering extremist activities and preventing them from happening in the future, which is under consideration.

The point is that in April, during a prosecutor's audit, it was discovered that the specified Internet provider had limited access to the sites www.limonka.hbp-info.com, www.watchtower.org and www.demushin.com. In addition to the three indicated sites, another 100 sites were recognized as extremist, access to which was open. This became the reason for going to court, which satisfied the prosecutor's demands in full.

The court decision has not yet entered into legal force.

Let us note that we consider blocking access to the website of Jehovah's Witnesses to be illegal (for more details, see the section “Unlawful anti-extremism” ). The religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is not banned in Russia at the federal level (only two regional ones are banned - and wrongfully so). Moreover, the address listed is the official website of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Pennsylvania), and not the websites of regional organizations.
