The governor of the Yaroslavl region called on officials to look for money for the restoration of the cathedral

On May 25, 2011 it became known that the Governor Yaroslavl region Sergey Vakhrukov urged local authorities to look for non-budgetary funds for the restoration of the Assumption Cathedral to the 1150th anniversary of the city.

The governor noted that it should not only be about the restoration of the facade buildings, but also about the interior. " We must not just <...> to restore the external appearance, - he said, - we need to deal with the internal. This is the basis of Rostov. This is the main cathedral. And without restoring it, without putting it in order, it’s not worth celebrating the anniversary .”
