Muslim women arrested in Ufa

On May 23, 2011, in Ufa, police officers of the 6th department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Bashkortostan arrested several Muslim women, broke into their houses and separated them from their young children.

Four of the women arrested were taken to department “E” of the operational search unit on the street. Kalinina, 55a. The fate of the others is unknown.

According to Muslims, the arrests were made in a rude and aggressive manner, furniture and belongings in the houses were overturned, and children suffered severe moral and mental trauma.

It later became known that the arrests and searches were carried out as part of acriminal investigation initiated by the Main Investigation Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan on May 20, 2011. Sources
