The FSB closed the website of Leonid Kaganov for a parody of a banned poem
On May 28, 2011, one of the oldest Runet sites http://lleo.aha.ru, owned by the writer and Internet activist Leonid Kaganov, was closed by the ISP by order of the FSB.
In December 2009, Kaganov wrote in an Internet diary text in which he expressed confusion about the practice of banning materials - including number of poems - for extremism. As an example, he cited the forbidden Angarsk City Court in September 2009 an anti-Semitic poem a certain Chipizubov.
In the first half of 2011, this entry was discovered by employees FSB and turned to the provider with a demand to eliminate the violation legislation. The provider contacted the author of the post, after which the latter replaced the forbidden poem with a parody acrostic of his own composition, the first letters of which formed the words: "What is the problem of the verse is not That".
However, two months later, the FSB sent an order to the provider close Kaganov's website, which was done.
Provider (by the way, one of the oldest in Russia hosting provider "Zenon") obeyed the absurd demand of the FSB, although theoretically he could challenge it in court. After posting the parody, replacing the forbidden poem, there was not even a formal reason for such serious measure, such as the closure of the entire site, especially without an appropriate court decisions.
In our opinion, this situation is a vivid example of a phenomenon that we call imitation of anti-extremist actions: it is clear that Kaganov's post, in in which there was no advertising of anti-Semitism even initially, when the text was illustrated the original of a forbidden poem does not pose any public danger. Extended in 2010, the repressive powers of the FSB are clearly misused.
