On June 2, 2011, the representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD), Viktor Ishaev, plenipotentiary at a meeting at the embassy, reported on the situation with extremist crimes in the district. According to the plenipotentiary’s office, no organizations recognized by the court as extremist have been identified in the Far Eastern Federal District, but there are 27 people included in the List of Organizations and Individuals Involved in Extremist Activities: Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) – 2; Kamchatka Territory – 1; Primorsky Krai – 11; Khabarovsk Territory – 4; Magadan region – 1 and Sakhalin region – 7, and there are a number of “extremist” groups and movements. Among these groups he named the “Movement against Illegal Immigration”, “Union of Slavs”, “National Bolshevik Party”.

In the Far Eastern Federal District, there is a steady upward trend in the number of registered crimes of an extremist nature: from 2 in 2005, to 30 in 2010 (2005 - 2; 2006 - 2; 2007 - 14; 2008 - 26; 2009 – 21; 2010 – 30), for 4 months. 2011 – 8 crimes.
