June 15, 2011 Prefect of the North-Western Administrative District (SZAO) Viktor Damurchiev announced that the Moscow authorities decided to abandon the construction temple in Strogino, listening to the opinion of local residents.
The results of the voting held at the forum of the district showed that the idea the construction of the temple at the indicated place was supported by 13% of the respondents, more than 60% were against, 25% supported the construction of the temple in another place - "not in the park and not to the detriment of the townspeople." The prefect pointed out that the city authorities listened to the results of the vote.
Recall that the residents of the area opposed the construction of the temple on territory of Moskvoretsky Park since November 2010.
