The Union of Siberian-Tatar Writers intends to oppose the transition of the Tyumen Tatars to the Protestant Churches

On June 13, 2011, it became known that members Union of Siberian-Tatar writers of the Tyumen region intend to resist involvement of Muslims in "sects".

The indignation of the members of the Union caused a sermon Jehovah's Witnesses and representatives of Protestant denominations among Tatar population of the Tyumen region.

Chairman Union of Siberian-Tatar Writers Anas Gaitov, in an interview with journalists, said: “ About the existence a special "Tatar group" among the "Jehovah's Witnesses" I was informed by acquaintances, concerned about the departure of Tatars to sects. Today sectarians have appeared even in such the ancient center of Islam as Yembaevo, which was previously unthinkable. In the former villages Kurynkul (Kazarovo), Yanaul (Parfyonovo), included in the Tyumen, also seen Jehovists are from among the Tatars, and they are actively recruiting new supporters .”

He stressed that “those present at the meeting [of the Witnesses] Jehovah”] Tatars know practically nothing about Islam.” Probably the main Anas Gaitov's call is to improve the quality of Islamic preaching in Tyumen region.
