Access to 80 sites is limited in Tolyatti

On June 22, 2011, the prosecutor of the Avtozavodsky district of the city of Togliatti, Yuri Sergeev said that this year his employees have identified more than 100 sites on the Internet, the materials of which are aimed at inciting a national hatred or call for extremist and terrorist activities. TO Unfortunately, we do not know which sites and materials are referred to.

On this fact, the district prosecutor's office sent to the Avtozavodsky district court Tolyatti corresponding claim.

The court partially satisfied the demand of the prosecutor's office and ordered providers to limit access to 80 sites.

Recall that from our point of view, if the site contains callers suspicious materials, a decision must be made to ban them, after which we can talk about blocking access to these materials. If the entire site is suspicious, it should be recognized as extremist, and only after that, access to it should be closed. We also note that, unfortunately, this problem does not yet have a solution that would be simultaneously technically feasible and legally correct.

In addition, it should be noted that we doubt the ability of the court to make an informed decision on 100 Internet sites at once. Sources
