Prot. Vsevolod Chaplin proposes to legislatively approve the right of parents to “determine the child’s worldview”

June 29, 2011 at the initiative of Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation held hearings "Disclosure of religious and national traditions in the context of the rights of parents to raise children”, within the discussed a bill aimed at regulating family relations.

Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin considers it necessary " in conditions where there are encroachments on the internal integrity and harmony of the family, on the right of parents to educate their children ” to submit to the authorities authorities a package of proposals that consolidate and develop the rights of parents.

In his opinion, " it is necessary guarantee the right of parents to determine the worldview of the child, including his attitude to religion, as well as the regulation of his way of life, including daily routine, performance of school and household duties, religious practice, getting information, communicating with the opposite sex, and so on .”
