The votive temple in Karelia is proposed to be considered a symbol of spiritual rebirth

On July 13, 2011, it became known that Igor Osipov, a resident of the Karelian village of Derevyanoe, announced his intention to build a votive chapel in memory of his dead wife and children at the local cemetery.

The chapel will be built on his money with the support of local residents and the Karelian regional public youth organization "Equilibrium". Representatives of "Equilibrium" said that since there is not a single temple in the village, "the construction of the chapel will become a symbol of the revival of the spiritual traditions of the village."
