A villager who sent anti-Christian, anti-Tatar and anti-Russian texts to the media was sentenced in Chuvashia

August 12, 2011 Yalchik District Court of Komsomolsk district of Chuvashia found a 49-year-old resident of the village of Verkhnee Timercheevo guilty of Part 1 Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred and enmity, as well as humiliation human dignity).

The investigation found that from January to March 2011 this the citizen sent files to the editorial offices of local media, “containing a negative assessment and expressing a hostile attitude towards the Christian denomination, as well as Tatar and Russian ethnic groups" .

The convict was sentenced to 180 hours of compulsory work. Sentence did not enter into force.
