On August 2, 2011, on Airborne Forces Day, in the Leninsky district of the city of Ulyanovsk, police detained 20 aggressive paratroopers. According to the press secretary of the city police department, they were heading to a vegetable base on Uritsky Street, where mostly immigrants from the Caucasus and Central Asia work.
“In principle, they were expected here, we know from experience how paratroopers celebrate Airborne Forces Day, and additional police units were deployed throughout the city,” the spokeswoman explained.
The detainees were taken to the department and released after administrative protocols were drawn up.
