The Supreme Court approved the ban on RONS

6 September 2011, the Supreme Court considered a cassation appeal against the decision of the Vladimir regional court dated May 30, 2011, according to which the interregional the association "Russian National Union" (RONS) was recognized as extremist organization.

Recall that the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the court on March 21 of this of the year. At the time of the trial, the activities of the organization were suspended.

In February and June last year, RONS activists in various cities were searched, and in March and June some RONS materials were found extremist.

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Vladimir Regional Court and it entered into force.

RONS is an Orthodox far-right organization that was founded in 1990. year. Igor Artemov remained permanently its chairman, who until last year, sat for several terms in the Vladimir Regional legislative assembly. In 2001, the organization attempted to transform itself into party, but it was denied registration.

In addition to the RONS, this year the “Spiritual-tribal Power of Russia” and the “Movement against illegal immigration” (DPNI) were recognized as extremist. In addition, the Cherepovets branch of the National Socialist Initiative (NSI) was recognized as extremist.
