In Bashkiria, the prosecutor's office made representations to providers demanding that they block access to “extremist” materials?

September 15, 2011 Prosecutor's Office of the Republic Bashkortostan announced that it had made submissions on the elimination of violations law 9 to local Internet providers and demanded to block the free access of users to extremist materials.

In the course of the prosecutor's check, it was revealed that on the sites http://rabidshare.info/, http://igrybogov.com, http://torrents.ufanet.ru, http://video.yandex.ru/, http://kavkazcenter.com/ posted a number of materials "aimed at promoting wars, incitement of national, religious hatred and enmity, justification terrorist activities." The conclusions of the prosecutor's office are confirmed by the conclusions of experts.

Note that the message is not quite it is clear whether the prosecutor's office requires providers to block access to specific pages or whether they need to close access to all sites that are ordinary online sites that provide access to a wide variety of materials, most of which clearly has no extremist content. We recall that, in our opinion, if the site contains extremist materials, it should be about blocking access to these particular materials. If the whole thing is suspicious website, it must be recognized as extremist in court, and only after a court decision access to it should be denied.
