Neo-Nazis attacked participants of the Equality March

On October 1, 2011, in Moscow, in the Chistye Prudy metro station, neo-Nazis attacked participants in the Equality March.

The action against discrimination against women and LGBT people, against all forms of xenophobia and discrimination, for equal rights for everyone was held near the Griboyedov monument on Chistye Prudy. Around this time, private participants in an action “against ethnocrime” organized by the “Russians” movement gathered at the ground entrance hall of the Chistye Prudy metro station.

The nationalists began shouting threats at their opponents, and then threw tomatoes at them. They also tried to unfurl posters with obscene inscriptions, and one went at the protesters with a paintball gun. Next, right-wing radicals followed the protesters into the subway and attacked them. It is reported that there was a fight in the subway and gas was sprayed. The clash was interrupted by police, who detained about 40 people, both neo-Nazis and participants in the March.
