October 11, 2011 Head of the Department of Cultural heritage of Moscow, Alexander Kibovsky during a press conference said that "the program restoration of religious objects of the past year was completely failed. Not a single penny of money was allocated."
According to him, the system of financing restoration works religious objects from 2012 will change: funds for these works will be included in the city budget as subsidies, then religious organizations be able to carry out repairs themselves.
"Now, when carrying out minor restoration work the customer is the city, according to the established rules, conducts competitive procedures, sometimes the contractor we have chosen causes criticism from representatives of the Church," said A. Kibovsky.
