Representatives of the Society for Krishna Consciousness accuse Interfax journalists of inciting hatred

" An unwitting accomplice in the distribution rumors and labeling, in particular, the followers of the Hindu tradition (of the Hare Krishnas) becomes such a respected news agency as Interfax, the statement said. - By sprinkling a message about a false attempt on Mr. Dvorkin the unsubstantiated story that Dvorkin was once beaten up by a Hare Krishna, Interfax thus deliberately leads the public to think about some real threat to Dvorkin from Vaishnavas (Krishnaites), and such extrapolation can lead to incitement interreligious strife . I consider the publication of Interfax reckless, irresponsible and even dangerous .”

One of the purpose of such articles in the media, Yuri Pleshakov considers an attempt to "disguise the absurd and the unprecedented trial in Tomsk over the Bhagavad Gita , "recognized as extremist text.
