The temple at MGIMO is included in the "Program-200" as the most significant

October 26, 2011 it became known that in the number of 200 modular churches to be erected in Moscow, the temple is included at MGIMO.

The decision to include the church at MGIMO in the program was adopted at a meeting held by the Moscow City Hall. Design costs and the construction was taken over by the St. Seraphim Sarovsky Foundation.

According to the Dean of the Faculty of International Journalism at MGIMO Yaroslava Skvortsova, the initiative to build the temple belongs to teachers and students of the Institute, who “ five years ago turned to secular and to the church authorities with a request to support the construction of a temple near the university .”
