Charges brought against Konstantin Krylov

November 14, 2011 in Moscow to Konstantin Krylov ("Russian public movement") was charged under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting national hatred). In our opinion, despite the obviously xenophobic the nature of Krylov's speech, for which he is prosecuted, criminal Krylov did not deserve this performance.

Recall that we are talking about his speech at the rally "Enough feed the Caucasus", in which he spoke extremely insultingly about the "Caucasians", but refrained from direct appeals.

Formally, this falls under Art. 282 (humiliation dignity on a national basis), but we consider this part of the article superfluous in UK. Considering that the insult is likely to fall out of crimes punishable by criminal liability, humiliation grouping should also be removed from the Criminal Code.

On April 28, 2012, the results of an independent examination conducted on the case by the Center for the Study of Problems of Extremism under St. Petersburg State University. According to experts, in the speech K. Krylova at the rally on November 4, 2011 does not contain signs of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.   Sources
