In Chuvashia, Orthodox clergy handed over Jehovah's Witnesses to the police

On December 7, 2011 it became known that on November 25 in the village Yalchiki (Chuvashia) approached two women preaching - Jehovah's Witnesses a stranger and said that he had been looking for them for a week. After that he called on the phone of three Orthodox priests. They told the preachers that Jehovah's Witnesses are banned in Chuvashia and offered to leave the village "so as not to incite religious hatred . " The priests then called the police.

The arriving policemen refused to introduce themselves, took women's passports and demanded to get into a company car in order to proceed to the department. The documents were returned only after the believers called the lawyer. After rewriting the passport data, the police released the preachers, but threatened that if they appear in this village again, they will be detained.
