A Lutheran pastor called on Christians to “show mercy rather than loyalty to a discredited regime.”

On December 8, 2011 Portal-Credo.ru published appeal of Lutheran pastor Vladimir Solodovnikov, initiated protest movements on December 5-6, 2011.

It should be noted that the main the audience for which the text was created are members of the Lutheran community, as well as heads and parishioners of other Christian Churches.

The appeal says: " I I am by no means calling the believers of the Evangelical confession to the barricades. I ask about prayer for our country. I ask the pastors of the local churches to help those who will be in dire need of such assistance on December 10 and after December 10. Manifest mercy, not loyalty to the discredited regime! ".

In the address, the pastor clearly expressed its position, speaking out against "any manifestations of violence", demanding (“subject to all necessary legal procedures and popular control”) reconsider the results of the last elections, the early resignation of the "incumbent President and the Prime Minister", as well as the "dissolution of the discredited party "United Russia"".
