The prosecutor's office of the Kirov region about extremist crimes in the region
On December 28, 2011, the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region reported on the situation with crimes of an extremist nature in the region this year (See the report of the SOVA Center " Crimes of an extremist nature ").
It is reported that 12 such crimes were registered in 2011.
According to the SOVA Center, the following sentences were handed down in the Kirov region:
in October in Kirov, a young minor wassentenced in a case of causing grievous bodily harm motivated by national hatred (Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
in June in Kirov, two young people were sentenced in the case of beatings that caused physical pain, but did not cause harm to health, based on national hatred (“b” part 2 of article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
in July in Kirov, two fans of Nikolai Levashov’s work were sentenced in the case of inciting national hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
in July in Kirov, a man who published materials prohibited by the courts on the Internet was sentenced in an administrative case for the mass distribution of extremist materials (p. 20.29 of the Administrative Code).
in May , a verdict was passed in Kirov in the case of hooliganism motivated by national hatred (clause “b”, part 1 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and theft (Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
in April in Kirov, an activist of the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI) was sentenced in the case of inciting national hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
