An Orthodox parish in Moscow was denied re-registration due to refusal to accept a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

On January 1, 2012, a religious procession was held on Golden Island in the center of Moscow in defense of the parish of the Church of St. Nikolai on Bersenevka, who was denied re-registration due to refusal to accept a TIN.

Community members are consistent opponents of the INN “and other globalist numbers.” In 2006, there was already an attempt to liquidate the parish for the same reason. Now, at an emergency meeting of the community, it was announced that the parishioners were again “warned of the impending disbandment,” but intended to defend themselves.
