Tamara Kvitkovskaya proposes to convict Alexander Nevzorov under Art. 282 for reprinting a book by a Soviet religious scholar

January 16, 2012 Chairman Board of the Public Committee for Human Rights Tamara Kvitkovskaya appealed to the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation with a demand to initiate criminal case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) in relation to Alexander Nevzorov.

The preface was A. Nevzorov to the book of the religious scholar of the 1930s E. Grekulov “The customs of the Russian clergy”, republished in 2011 in St. Petersburg.

« On the front cover page under the heading are the following words: "drunkenness - gluttony - sodomy - fornication - pedophilia - usury", designed to form a deliberately false, slanderous generalized opinion about Orthodox priests as if massively possessing the indicated characteristics, as about those who in a mass in order and is constantly engaged / was engaged in the indicated immoral and / or frankly criminal acts , - said in a statement T. Kvitkovskaya. - On the formation such extremely harshly degrading human dignity of Orthodox believers almost all contents of said book .

According to the author of the statement, “ publication and distribution of the said book clearly constitutes a crime under Article 282 Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ".

T. Kvitkovskaya, considering this book extremist, asks the Chairman of the Investigative Committee:

"immediately file against Alexander Nevzorov and others involved in the publication extremist book "Morals of the Russian clergy" persons criminal case under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation”,
"recognize the organization "Nevzorov Haute Ecole" ("Nevzorov Ot Ekol") extremist and eliminated in a judicial okay",
"withdraw the entire print run of the extremist book "The Morals of the Russian Clergy" from sale,

- Fund "Sanity" and others distributors "take out warning about the inadmissibility of extremist activity.
