The Patriarch called for budgetary funding of Orthodox schools

On January 23, 2012, speaking at the opening of the 20th Christmas Educational Readings in Moscow, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' announced the need to create a legal framework that would guarantee budgetary funding for Orthodox educational institutions.

“Some work has been done in this direction, the relevant amendments to federal and regional legislation have been formulated, which are currently being considered by relevant state structures. We hope the issue will be resolved positively,” the patriarch said.
