On January 31, 2012, the Balashikha City Court of the Moscow Region passed a verdict against the director of the SAD publishing group, Aidar Khabibullin and Eduard Gabdrakhmanov .
The court sentenced A. Khabibullin to four years in prison in a penal colony, finding him guilty under Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal storage of ammunition) and Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity). E. Gabdrakhmanov was also sentenced to the same term.
Let us recall that the convicts were detained in September 2010 in Balashikha on charges of distributing extremist leaflets and storing ammunition (they themselves deny these charges). The arrest of A. Khabibullin caused protests among Muslims throughout the country.
It should also be noted that the case involves several books from the Sad publishing house, the examination of which does not stand up to criticism.
