Sentenced for attacking Indian citizens

On February 1, 2012, the Industrial District Court of the city of Smolensk (Smolensk Region) sentenced A. Krichevtsev and S. Kozlov for attacking natives of India on April 20, 2011.

Krichevtsov found guilty under paragraph "b" part 1 Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism committed motivated by racial and national hatred), clause “e” part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health, not dangerous to human life, but causing a long-term health disorder, committed on the basis of racial and national hatred), p. "b" part 2 of article 116 (intentional infliction of beatings motivated by hatred) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He was sentenced to one year of imprisonment with serving a sentence in a correctional colony of strict regime. According to the website of the court "with of the defendant Krichevtsov, the legal costs associated with remuneration of the lawyer who participated in the consideration of the case by appointment.

The defendant fully admitted his guilt. The court found him sane.

S. Kozlov was acquitted.
