On February 1, 2012, the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal declared lawful the orders of Roskomnadzor annulling the permission to distribute the magazines "Awake!" in October 2011, which recognized the orders of Roskomnadzor as illegal. and the Watchtower in Russia, the claim of the Jehovah's Witnesses, who challenged these orders, was dismissed. Thus, the appellate instance overturned the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court
Let us recall that for two years Jehovah's Witnesses have been challenging the orders of Roskomnadzor dated April 26 and May 18, 2010 to annul the permission to distribute the Awake! and "Watchtower" in Russia. Roskomnadzor is based on the decision to recognize the materials of these publications as extremist and to include them in the Federal List of Extremist Materials .
