On February 2, 2012, a picket "Anti-clericalism-2012" was held in St. Petersburg, dedicated to the 94th anniversary of the decree "On the separation of the Church from the state and the school from the Church." About 50 people took part in the action. Several social movements acted as organizers, in particular, Aurora, Autonomous Action, the Association of Marxist Associations, the Petr Alekseev Resistance Movement, the Revolutionary Komsomol, the Regional Party of Communists, the Russian Socialist Movement, the Federation of Socialist Youth and the St. Petersburg LGBT community.
The participants of the action are sure that "religious structures strive to fill all spheres of public life" .
The picket was agreed with the city authorities. Despite this, like a year ago , a member of the Legislative Assembly demanded that the governor ban the action as provocative and extremist. This time, United Russia Vitaly Milonov became the initiator of the appeal to the governor.
