A criminal case has been opened in the Murmansk region for xenophobic files on a social network

In February 2012, in the city of Zapolyarny, Murmansk region, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national and social hatred).

The case was launched against a 28-year-old local resident who is accused of posting xenophobic audio and video recordings on the VKontakte social network. It is reported that "the posted information is aimed at inciting hatred and enmity, humiliation of the dignity of a group of persons on a national and social basis, in particular with regard to representatives of the Caucasus, Asia, Africa, Jewish nation, as well as law enforcement officials."

Recall that we do not consider representatives of law enforcement agencies to be a special social group that requires protection, they are already protected by other articles of Russian legislation.

The fact of posting on the Internet was revealed by operational officers in the village of Nikel of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Moscow Region.

The case was taken under special control by the prosecutor's office of the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region.
