Figures, according to the prime minister, confirm the “state-forming” role of Orthodoxy

On February 8, 2012, during a meeting with religious leaders, Vladimir Putin announced figures that, in his opinion, confirm the special, "state-forming" role of Russian Orthodoxy.

According to the statistics presented by the Prime Minister, 71% of Russians support the creation of an Orthodox TV channel, 66% - the organization of church general education schools, 73% - church orphanages, more than 80% - church hospitals and nursing homes. 77% approve of the presence of the clergy in the army, 82% support the prison ministry of the clergy.   Sources
