March 20, 2012 in Voronezh, employees of the Center "E" searched the House of Human Rights, where a number of regional NGOs are based, and seized Xerox. According to a representative of the Center "E", the device was seized for based on operational information from the FSB that it "prints extremist materials.
It is reported that the criminal case in connection with which a search was carried out, does not exist, no documents, the police at the same time presented.
Employees of the House of Human Rights link the search with another by checking the student newspaper "Transition", the legal address of which is the room in the building of the House. With regard to this newspaper in the summer of 2011, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Voronezh region conducted a pre-investigation check on the fact of publication in the spring 2010 parody article " Youth - for totalitarianism and lack of freedom ", in which the signs of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code. March 2012 check resumed - and, probably, a search was carried out within its framework.
We believe that the inspectors from Center "E" in in this case have exceeded their powers: no withdrawals are possible outside investigation of a criminal case.
