On March 22, 2012, the Moscow branch of the Yabloko party spoke demanding the release of the detained members of the Pussy Riot group.
“We condemn the hooligan action that took place, which offended feelings of some believers. We believe that the offense committed "Pussy Riot" is not grounds for their detention, - says in the statement.
Detention of members of the group authors of the document consider "the revenge of the authoritarian state and its individual representatives, using legal mechanisms as an instrument of repression for personal reasons”.
The Moscow "Yabloko" called on law enforcement agencies and the court strictly follow the principles of humane treatment of a person and a citizen, as well as constitutional principle of separation of church and state.
